MY STORY
A belief that changed. A life that followed.
I grew up in Saudi Arabia, surrounded by brilliant women living in a world that hadn't yet caught up with them. For years, I believed I needed to be a man to make a difference — because every example of leadership, business, and wealth I saw growing up was male. At 13, I made a quiet, stubborn decision anyway: I would find my own way.
I left to study marketing at Concordia University in Montreal. In 2004, I moved to Dubai and built a career across luxury brand communications at L'Oréal, corporate strategy at Chalhoub Group and ABIS — working alongside powerful examples of women leading in business and government, and slowly unlearning everything I once believed about who gets to build.
Before turning 40, I fulfilled a promise I had made to myself. In 2016, I co-founded INSTAGLAM — the GCC's first luxury beauty-tech platform. What followed was real: growth across five GCC countries, stages like Cannes Film Festival and Paris Fashion Week — but also long working hours, COVID, regional instability, and every uncertainty that comes with building something from nothing.
What all of it taught me: you do not need to become someone else to succeed. You need to recognise what is already unique and valuable about you — and have the courage to build from it.

Haifa Addas grew up in Saudi Arabia believing the only way to build a real future was to be born a man. She spent the next 22 years proving herself wrong.
She built her career across L'Oréal's luxury division, Chalhoub Group, and corporate marketing — before co-founding INSTAGLAM in 2016, growing it from the UAE into a name trusted by Hermès, Fendi, Dior, Cartier, and Chopard across the GCC and global stages like Cannes and Paris Fashion Week.
Since 2019, she has mentored founders and creatives through Sheraa, Flat6Labs, AWE UAE, and the UAE Ministry of Culture — and taken the stage at Beautyworld, Princess Nourah University, and ET Future Forward.
